Ph.D. Program In Finance The Finance Minor
Overview
Students pursuing a doctoral degree in another area who wish to complete a finance minor are required to take at least five graduate level finance courses (defined below), receive a least a 3.0 grade point average in these classes, and pass a qualifying exam in finance. The qualifying exam will be written by the finance faculty and will be administered after the completion of the coursework.
Finance Minor Coursework
A. FIN 6331 (PhD seminar in Foundations in Finance). FIN 6331 is a prerequisite for the other PhD seminars in finance and is offered once a year during fall semester. B. At least one other PhD level seminar course in finance (FIN 6332, FIN 6333, FIN 6335, or FIN 6336), selected in consultation with the Director of the Finance PhD program.
C. At least three other graduate level (i.e., 5000+ level) finance courses, not including FIN 5320, 5321, and 5421 (or equivalent), selected in consultation with the Director of the Finance PhD program.
